Operating principle and application

DDC dry disconnect couplings for liquid transfer

MannTek DDC couplings incorporate valves operated by the coupling and uncoupling motion to minimise product loss. Tank and hose units allow the coupling interface and the equipment connection to be specified separately.

Applications

  • Fuels
  • Chemicals
  • Industrial processes

Configuration parameters

Unit and connection

  • Tank unit or hose unit
  • Coupling interface size
  • Threaded or flanged connection, depending on the version

Materials and sealing

  • Aluminium, stainless steel or brass, depending on the unit
  • O-ring seal material
  • Hose connection size where applicable

Selectivity and protection

  • Mechanical coding of the units
  • Protective caps and accessories
  • Unit-specific options

Configuration guidance

What distinguishes a tank unit from a hose unit?

They are the two mating components of the coupling. The tank unit is installed on the tank or pipework; the hose unit couples to it. When replacing a unit, identify the size and configuration of the existing mating unit.

What is the purpose of mechanical selectivity?

Selectivity uses slots on the tank unit and pins on the hose unit to prevent coupling between incompatible codes. It is intended to prevent accidental product mixing. Available positions depend on coupling size and the required compatibility.
